Yuna Jang: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Yuna and I am from Sacramento, California. A bit about my home life, I have a sister who currently attends Baylor University on track to become a doctor and I am currently studying nursing. My parents own their own sushi restaurant so I can confidently say sushi is my favorite food (and I know good sushi). Other than Setons, I am also involved in the Gonzaga Student Nurses Association here on campus as well as when I’m at home from school, I work at my local gym’s kid’s club because I love working with kids! Although nursing is pretty rigorous academically, in my spare time I live with 3 other roommates and we love to cook, watch movies, go on walks, and shop!  I chose the Seton pillar of sisterhood. This pillar is truly what drew me to Setons in the first place. As a 2nd semester freshman girl, I felt like I had met a lot of people but didn’t truly connect with any to call them a close friend. However, once I joined Setons, I got to truly and deeply connect with ...

Pilar Winter - Sisterhood

Hello!! I’m Pilar Winter, I’m majoring in Psychology and Sociology and minoring in Spanish. With these, I hope to attend grad school and become a therapist! I’m from San Jose, CA and I love going to the beach with friends, hiking, finding new restaurants to try, and spending time with my family and dogs!
Setons is easily one of the highlights of my sophomore year and it added such a positive light to this semester filled with zoom meetings and stuffy apartments. All aspects of Setons helped me to grow as a person and dedicate more time to the Spokane community. However, I feel that the pillar of Sisterhood has had the largest impact on me. I have absolutely loved getting to know the girls and create friendships with people I probably wouldn’t have had the chance to meet otherwise! Coming from an all-girls high school and a family of only 3 girls, sisterhood has always been pivotal to my life, and I feel so grateful to have been a part of such a wonderful organization with such fantastic people that all genuinely support and care for one another. Sister dates have been such a great way of getting to know the girls, and initially, I thought it might be hard to plan get-togethers during a pandemic, but we have been able to facetime, have outdoor picnics, go on walks, grab coffee, and so much more. I cannot wait to grow in my friendships with all the girls in Setons and continue to develop our already strong sisterhood throughout the rest of college!! ATTS!!!
