Laila Zommers: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Laila Zommers and I’m from Seattle, WA. I’m double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration (with a Finance concentration). I am the oldest of 3, and my younger sister (17) and younger brother (15) are my best friends! Joining Setons this year has truly been one of the best decisions I have EVER made. Outside of Setons, I am an active member in the Gonzaga Women in Business club. I love to cook, go on runs, hang out with friends, shop, and explore the Spokane coffee scene.                                            Out of our three pillars, I have resonated the most with Sisterhood as it’s the backbone of everything we do in Setons. Leadership and service could not thrive the same without it. Finding a group of like-minded women has been super beneficial in my college experience and my growth into the young woman I am today. Kennedy Earley - Service

Hey there, my name is Kennedy Earley and I am from Sacramento, California! I am currently studying Communications as my major, and Broadcasting and Public Relations as my minor! I enjoy doing any outside activity whether that means hiking, swimming, playing soccer, basketball, or any other sport!
Currently, I am fundraising chair in Setons and have been having an absolute blast. This year started out a little difficult due to the complications with COVID-19 but I think as a group we have done as best as we can. One thing I learned this year from Setons was the practice of putting oneself out there. I learned to put myself out there in leadership, sisterhood, and service. In leadership, I was able to run for an executive position and learn all about organization and responsibility. In sisterhood, I was able to communicate with my sisters and grow closer with them through the effort I put in. And finally, in service, I was able to meet new people in the Spokane area and see how my work translates into real change. Although I do appreciate all these pillars in Setons, I admire the service pillar the most. In Setons I have been given the opportunity to reach out to the greater Spokane area and volunteer at least two hours a week. For me, I get to volunteer at St. Anne’s Child and Family Center where I sort clothing, make pro-parent projects, and organize the facility to make it easier for families to find the items they need that week. Service in Setons really provides me with a different kind of happiness than other activities in life because I get to do it with my sisters and feel as though I can make small differences that build into bigger changes. ATTS forever :)))
