Eleanor Johnson: Service

Hi! My name is Eleanor Johnson, and I am from Snohomish, Washington. I am majoring in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems and have a minor in dance. Outside of class I work with Campus Kitchens, a program on campus that takes leftover food from campus dining to cook warm meals that are then served to Gonzaga Family Haven and O’Malley Senior Center. Along with Setons I am apart of Women in Business, Beta Alpha Psi, and the involved in the Gonzaga dance program. In my free time I like to read, get coffee, take workout classes, and watch Gilmore Girls.   I joined Girl Scouts in first grade and ever since, Service has been extremely important to me and something I strive to keep a part of my life. Growing up in Girl Scouts allowed me to recognize the importance of helping those in my community from an early age and has ultimately led me to be the person I am today. Service was the pillar that drove me to join Setons, and I’m so ...

Kennedy Earley - Service

Hey there, my name is Kennedy Earley and I am from Sacramento, California! I am currently studying Communications as my major, and Broadcasting and Public Relations as my minor! I enjoy doing any outside activity whether that means hiking, swimming, playing soccer, basketball, or any other sport!
Currently, I am fundraising chair in Setons and have been having an absolute blast. This year started out a little difficult due to the complications with COVID-19 but I think as a group we have done as best as we can. One thing I learned this year from Setons was the practice of putting oneself out there. I learned to put myself out there in leadership, sisterhood, and service. In leadership, I was able to run for an executive position and learn all about organization and responsibility. In sisterhood, I was able to communicate with my sisters and grow closer with them through the effort I put in. And finally, in service, I was able to meet new people in the Spokane area and see how my work translates into real change. Although I do appreciate all these pillars in Setons, I admire the service pillar the most. In Setons I have been given the opportunity to reach out to the greater Spokane area and volunteer at least two hours a week. For me, I get to volunteer at St. Anne’s Child and Family Center where I sort clothing, make pro-parent projects, and organize the facility to make it easier for families to find the items they need that week. Service in Setons really provides me with a different kind of happiness than other activities in life because I get to do it with my sisters and feel as though I can make small differences that build into bigger changes. ATTS forever :)))
