Yuna Jang: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Yuna and I am from Sacramento, California. A bit about my home life, I have a sister who currently attends Baylor University on track to become a doctor and I am currently studying nursing. My parents own their own sushi restaurant so I can confidently say sushi is my favorite food (and I know good sushi). Other than Setons, I am also involved in the Gonzaga Student Nurses Association here on campus as well as when I’m at home from school, I work at my local gym’s kid’s club because I love working with kids! Although nursing is pretty rigorous academically, in my spare time I live with 3 other roommates and we love to cook, watch movies, go on walks, and shop!  I chose the Seton pillar of sisterhood. This pillar is truly what drew me to Setons in the first place. As a 2nd semester freshman girl, I felt like I had met a lot of people but didn’t truly connect with any to call them a close friend. However, once I joined Setons, I got to truly and deeply connect with ...

Meaghan Andersen - Sisterhood

Hi! My name is Meaghan Andersen. I am a Nursing major with a minor in Psychology. I am from Lake Oswego, Oregon, which is about 20 minutes from Portland. In my free time, I love to go on hikes, walks, and runs. I pretty much love to do anything to get outside and be active.
This year I have loved all aspects of Setons and the three pillars. However, the pillar of sisterhood has had the biggest impact on me. I am the youngest of five with four brothers, so I have never had the sisterhood experience. Through Setons, I have been able to make friends and memories I will never forget. I think my most memorable sisterhood experience happens every Friday and now Mondays too. Every week I go on a run in the morning with my fellow Seton, Juliette, and get breakfast after! I have loved getting to know her during our runs and then enjoying a delicious cog omelet after. Not only do I run with Juliette, but I also got the opportunity to volunteer every week with her at Catholic Charities. Sisterhood and Setons have been so important to me. I cannot wait to continue to develop even stronger friendships with my fellow Setons. ATTS :)
