Lily Thornburg - Sisterhood

Hi, I'm Lily and I from Seattle Washington. On a business administration major with concentrations, in entrepreneurship, and innovation international business and marketing. I'm involved in new venture lab on campus and the Gonzaga ambassadors' program aside from being a part of Setons of Gonzaga. I really enjoy going on walks, listening to podcasts, and watching sunsets. I'm looking forward to all the fun memories the rest of sophomore year has to hold.      The sisterhood pillar in setons stands out to me the most because of the importance of it in all aspects of what we do at setons. During service I grow so close with my sisters and have really enjoyed getting to know them on a deeper level. I'm also one of this year's social chair so I get to plan all our social events and facilitate our bonding Activities. I thoroughly enjoy our Wednesday meetings where we get to update each other on all things new within the club and our lives. My favorite mome...

ABOUT US

The Setons of Gonzaga is a service organization composed of 30 amazing women who actively serve the Spokane community under the three pillars of service, sisterhood, and leadership. During the year, Setons participate in monthly service at different organizations throughout Spokane. These services can range anywhere from leaf raking, writing letters and cards, serving at shelters, and so on. Monthly service creates an opportunity for all 30 of us to serve at the same time together. In addition, each week Setons are broken down into smaller groups to perform weekly service at organizations that we work with all semester long. Fall 2023, a few groups worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Spokane and a couple of groups were at the Hutton Settlement Children's Home.

Additionally, Setons are well known for hosting the annual Charity Ball event where all students on campus are welcome to attend in order to raise money to donate to an organization of our choice. This year we are supporting Sally's House Emergency Foster Care. Essentially, the Setons of Gonzaga create an atmosphere where women can serve the community, support one another, grow in leadership, and gain 29 other sisters while doing so!
