Laila Zommers: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Laila Zommers and I’m from Seattle, WA. I’m double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration (with a Finance concentration). I am the oldest of 3, and my younger sister (17) and younger brother (15) are my best friends! Joining Setons this year has truly been one of the best decisions I have EVER made. Outside of Setons, I am an active member in the Gonzaga Women in Business club. I love to cook, go on runs, hang out with friends, shop, and explore the Spokane coffee scene.                                            Out of our three pillars, I have resonated the most with Sisterhood as it’s the backbone of everything we do in Setons. Leadership and service could not thrive the same without it. Finding a group of like-minded women has been super beneficial in my college experience and my growth into the young woman I am today. Emma Davey: Service

Hi! My name is Emma Davey, and I am from Gilbert, Arizona. I am majoring in Political Science and double minoring in Social Justice and Digital Marketing. So far, being a Seton has been such an amazing experience! I have really enjoyed connecting with all the girls, giving back to the community, and serving on the Setons Executive Board as the Apparel Chair. As Apparel Chair, I design all our merchandise, everything from t-shirts and sweatshirts to stickers. Setons has been a really great way to get involved on campus and make an impact at Gonzaga and beyond. Besides Setons, I am also the Advertising and Graphics Manager for the Gonzaga Student Body Association (GSBA). In this role, I design all our promotional materials for social media and campus displays to spread the word about GSBA events and programs to both Gonzaga students and the broader Spokane community. Outside of school, I am a huge fan of Gonzaga basketball. Both of my parents went to Gonzaga, so I have been a Zag my whole life and attended my first Gonzaga basketball game at 6 months old. I also love playing intramurals, hanging out with friends, drinking coffee, and going to concerts.

One of the things I love most about Setons is the opportunity to give back and serve our community. My weekly service group (pictured) volunteers at OneHeart Spokane, an afterschool program for kids from kindergarten to eighth grade. We spend time playing soccer, volleyball, board games, and other activities with the kids, and we also eat dinner with them. It has been such a rewarding experience seeing the kids light up when we arrive, always eager to play. I have especially loved playing soccer with them and building connections week after week. I am so grateful for the chance to carry out our pillar of service and look forward to continuing to create memories with all the kids!
