Eleanor Johnson: Service

Hi! My name is Eleanor Johnson, and I am from Snohomish, Washington. I am majoring in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems and have a minor in dance. Outside of class I work with Campus Kitchens, a program on campus that takes leftover food from campus dining to cook warm meals that are then served to Gonzaga Family Haven and O’Malley Senior Center. Along with Setons I am apart of Women in Business, Beta Alpha Psi, and the involved in the Gonzaga dance program. In my free time I like to read, get coffee, take workout classes, and watch Gilmore Girls.   I joined Girl Scouts in first grade and ever since, Service has been extremely important to me and something I strive to keep a part of my life. Growing up in Girl Scouts allowed me to recognize the importance of helping those in my community from an early age and has ultimately led me to be the person I am today. Service was the pillar that drove me to join Setons, and I’m so ...

Amelia Orth- Sisterhood

Hi! My name is Amelia Orth and I am from Mercer Island, Washington. I am majoring in Business with concentrations in Marketing and Human Resource Management. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest has led me to fall in love with everything outdoors. I enjoy swimming in the lake in the summer and skiing in the mountains in the winter. One of my biggest passions is to travel and I hope to visit all seven contents one day!

One of the biggest reasons that I joined Setons was for the sisterhood pillar. Having experienced my first year of college in the midst of Covid, I found it extremely hard to meet people and make friends because of not being able to do anything in person. Setons has completely filled that void for me and brought me 28 amazing friends I know I can always count on. Weekly sister dates are one of my favorite parts of sisterhood. Even when I am having an overwhelming or stressful week, I always try to make time to go grab coffee or dinner with one of my sisters. I have gotten to know so many of my sisters on a deeper level and had such open and honest conversations with them. Each month I feel like our class becomes closer and closer as we get to know each other better through sister dates. Another part of sisterhood that I love is our socials! Socials are another great way that I have been able to talk to different sisters and get to know them if we haven't been on a sister date yet. Overall, I love getting to know my Seton sisters. I am so grateful to be apart of Setons because it has introduced me to such a variety of girls that I know will be lifelong friends.
