Laila Zommers: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Laila Zommers and I’m from Seattle, WA. I’m double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration (with a Finance concentration). I am the oldest of 3, and my younger sister (17) and younger brother (15) are my best friends! Joining Setons this year has truly been one of the best decisions I have EVER made. Outside of Setons, I am an active member in the Gonzaga Women in Business club. I love to cook, go on runs, hang out with friends, shop, and explore the Spokane coffee scene.                                            Out of our three pillars, I have resonated the most with Sisterhood as it’s the backbone of everything we do in Setons. Sarah Avila - Service

Hi! My name is Sarah Avila, I am the apparel chair for this year! I am from Sacramento, California and a double major in political science and environmental studies. I have two dogs, Jack and Chanel, and they are arguably the cutest dogs ever.
Each of the pillars is extremely significant to me. Sisterhood is something I have always valued and one of the biggest aspects I missed of being an athlete on a team. Setons has given me that and more. I have made so many connections with the girls and I genuinely enjoy every event with my sisters. Service has impacted my life greatly and a task I have been regularly involved in since 7th grade. Leadership is an aspect of my everyday life and a characteristic of who I am. I have taken on leadership roles my entire life, including in setons. However, the pillar that is most significant to me is service. Even though we have not yet been able to do our service due to the pandemic, it is what I was most excited for when joining setons. I have always been involved in community service programs and at home, I did multiple service programs that involved working with special needs children. I enjoy doing regular service because it allows me to make connections with those I serve and serve with. I cannot wait to see what this pillar will bring when we start our service! Especially since both pillars of sisterhood and leadership have been amazing so far!
