Yuna Jang: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Yuna and I am from Sacramento, California. A bit about my home life, I have a sister who currently attends Baylor University on track to become a doctor and I am currently studying nursing. My parents own their own sushi restaurant so I can confidently say sushi is my favorite food (and I know good sushi). Other than Setons, I am also involved in the Gonzaga Student Nurses Association here on campus as well as when I’m at home from school, I work at my local gym’s kid’s club because I love working with kids! Although nursing is pretty rigorous academically, in my spare time I live with 3 other roommates and we love to cook, watch movies, go on walks, and shop!  I chose the Seton pillar of sisterhood. This pillar is truly what drew me to Setons in the first place. As a 2nd semester freshman girl, I felt like I had met a lot of people but didn’t truly connect with any to call them a close friend. However, once I joined Setons, I got to truly and deeply connect with ...

Grace Spiegel - Leadership

Hello! My name is Grace Spiegel. I am from Bellevue Washington and I am an English major and Political Science minor. I am also a co-social chair for Setons. I love One Direction, animals, and the outdoors!!
The pillar I will be focusing on is Leadership (and a bit of Sisterhood as well). This year, as we all know, has been challenging. It has tested the traditions of Setons as well as how the executive team functions. I am so proud of all that we have done this year to overcome the barriers that COVID has set for us. Of course, we all stay 6 feet apart with masks, but the executive team has been able to make socials, meetings, and service events in person! All my lovely sisters have worked so hard to make this happen, and I could not be more thankful to have them all in my life. Nothing says true leadership and sisterhood like overcoming challenges together.
With the help of masks, LOTS of hand sanitizer, and great people, my year so far in Setons has been amazing. All the girls keep their spirits up, even when it gets hard. I am so excited to continue my Setons journey with them!
