Yuna Jang: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Yuna and I am from Sacramento, California. A bit about my home life, I have a sister who currently attends Baylor University on track to become a doctor and I am currently studying nursing. My parents own their own sushi restaurant so I can confidently say sushi is my favorite food (and I know good sushi). Other than Setons, I am also involved in the Gonzaga Student Nurses Association here on campus as well as when I’m at home from school, I work at my local gym’s kid’s club because I love working with kids! Although nursing is pretty rigorous academically, in my spare time I live with 3 other roommates and we love to cook, watch movies, go on walks, and shop!  I chose the Seton pillar of sisterhood. This pillar is truly what drew me to Setons in the first place. As a 2nd semester freshman girl, I felt like I had met a lot of people but didn’t truly connect with any to call them a close friend. However, once I joined Setons, I got to truly and deeply connect with ...

Natalie Carlson - Sisterhood

Hi there!
My name is Natalie and I am a Nursing major & Spanish minor. I grew up right outside of Portland, Oregon, so I'm a big fan of the beauty of the Northwest!
So far this year, my favorite pillar is Sisterhood. Throughout this unpredictable and untraditional year, it has remained important to me to connect with the other girls in this club as safely as possible. Almost every week, we are assigned "Sister Dates" as an opportunity to get to know other Setons one-on-one. Whether that be meeting for coffee in Hemmingson, going on a walk on Centennial Trail, or sledding by Lake Arthur, I feel so lucky to get to know and spend time with these amazing, driven, and like-minded girls! Additionally, as Setons, we are all assigned a "Big" sister from the class above us. My Big, Bella, and I have so much in common and have become very close friends. I appreciate the connection we've made despite the challenges of this year!
In other news, we recently learned about the service organizations we will be working with for the rest of the semester (shoutout Ashley and Katie). I am looking forward to beginning service this weekend with Blessings Under the Bridge alongside my sisters Eva, Claire P, Lauren, and Pilar!
