Yuna Jang: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Yuna and I am from Sacramento, California. A bit about my home life, I have a sister who currently attends Baylor University on track to become a doctor and I am currently studying nursing. My parents own their own sushi restaurant so I can confidently say sushi is my favorite food (and I know good sushi). Other than Setons, I am also involved in the Gonzaga Student Nurses Association here on campus as well as when I’m at home from school, I work at my local gym’s kid’s club because I love working with kids! Although nursing is pretty rigorous academically, in my spare time I live with 3 other roommates and we love to cook, watch movies, go on walks, and shop!  I chose the Seton pillar of sisterhood. This pillar is truly what drew me to Setons in the first place. As a 2nd semester freshman girl, I felt like I had met a lot of people but didn’t truly connect with any to call them a close friend. However, once I joined Setons, I got to truly and deeply connect with ...

Bella Realmuto: Leadership

My name is Bella Realmuto and I’m from Denver Colorado. At Gonzaga I am majoring in Political Science with a minor is Communication Studies and Comprehension Leadership Studies. I have two wonderful parents, an older sister Eryn, and an adorable Bernie doodle named Jett. Some of my favorite hobbies include cooking, skiing, hiking, and spending time with my friends. I am always up for a good adventure with my friends, like my trip to Seattle with my roommates or camping in the Great Sand Dunes with my best friends at home. During this year Setons has also become one of the best things I have ever been a part of.
We have three important pillars in our club: Sisterhood, Leadership, and Service. I wanted to speak on leadership. I have held many leadership positions, and I am even working towards obtaining a minor in leadership studies. Being a part of Setons has given me a unique opportunity as I am the co-Chair (with the lovely Alyssa Smith) for the Setons annual Charity Ball. This event is very special to us as a club where we organize an all-school ball in which we raise money to donate to a charity of our choosing. Through Setons I have learned that leadership requires you to lean on your team to support you. Planning a dance while in the midst of taking college courses it can get a little crazy, but I have learned how important it is to rely on the other girls in Setons to help make everything run a little smoother. I have also learned just how capable we all are. Looking at our wonderful President Ella and Vice-President Maddie, I have learned what it means to be a true leader. They handle each task with grace and kindness. They bring such wonderful energy to Setons and are a great model for what all three of the pillars should look like.
