Yuna Jang: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Yuna and I am from Sacramento, California. A bit about my home life, I have a sister who currently attends Baylor University on track to become a doctor and I am currently studying nursing. My parents own their own sushi restaurant so I can confidently say sushi is my favorite food (and I know good sushi). Other than Setons, I am also involved in the Gonzaga Student Nurses Association here on campus as well as when I’m at home from school, I work at my local gym’s kid’s club because I love working with kids! Although nursing is pretty rigorous academically, in my spare time I live with 3 other roommates and we love to cook, watch movies, go on walks, and shop!  I chose the Seton pillar of sisterhood. This pillar is truly what drew me to Setons in the first place. As a 2nd semester freshman girl, I felt like I had met a lot of people but didn’t truly connect with any to call them a close friend. However, once I joined Setons, I got to truly and deeply connect with ...

Maddy Way: Service

Hello! My name is Maddy Way. I am from Mercer Island Washington. I am studying Accounting at Gonzaga University. I have a little sister and two cats. My favorite things to do are going to coffee shops, painting, cooking, skiing, and exploring new places with my family/friends. My favorite shows are Gilmore Girls (especially watching with my mom), any reality dating show, or a real estate show. I am a big Star Wars and Marvel girl too. All though Setons is coming to an end, I am looking forward to continuing all the amazing friendships I gained through Setons.

Service is such an important pillar in my life and in Setons. In high school, I had participated in The National Charity League (NCL) with my mom. This is something that shaped my high school experience because I got to volunteer and help people with my mom and friends. This experience helped us bond closer than we would have without it, because in my opinion helping other people ultimately brings you closer together. This is also what Setons is about to me. I have the wonderful opportunity to help people with people that I love, creating an even more meaningful experience than it would have before. I specifically love monthly services because there are so many of us, it feels like we are really making a difference and helping these people who need it. It is also an amazing bonding experience and a way to interact with people we may not typically interact with every day. I am so grateful for everything and everyone Setons has brought to my life.
