Eleanor Johnson: Service

Hi! My name is Eleanor Johnson, and I am from Snohomish, Washington. I am majoring in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems and have a minor in dance. Outside of class I work with Campus Kitchens, a program on campus that takes leftover food from campus dining to cook warm meals that are then served to Gonzaga Family Haven and O’Malley Senior Center. Along with Setons I am apart of Women in Business, Beta Alpha Psi, and the involved in the Gonzaga dance program. In my free time I like to read, get coffee, take workout classes, and watch Gilmore Girls.   I joined Girl Scouts in first grade and ever since, Service has been extremely important to me and something I strive to keep a part of my life. Growing up in Girl Scouts allowed me to recognize the importance of helping those in my community from an early age and has ultimately led me to be the person I am today. Service was the pillar that drove me to join Setons, and I’m so ...

Cassidy Proudfoot: Sisterhood

Hi everyone! My name is Cassidy Proudfoot and I’m from Portland, Oregon! I’m a double major in Criminology and Sociology with a minor in Psychology! I love being outside, spending time with friends and family, thrifting, hanging out with my dog Bailey, and reading new books! Outside of Setons, I have a job at the law school which is super fun and helps me to have a little break from my day! I’m also a part of GUSR which is a program where you get to work with adults with developmental and cognitive disabilities. Both are activities that I’m super glad I’m a part of and allow me to get involved with the Gonzaga community and spend time with a ton of great people! I’m super excited, yet almost sad to start selections, I’m super excited to meet the new class and select the new generation of Setons, but I’m going to be super upset once I’m not in Seton’s meetings or service every week! I am really going to miss it!

The pillar that I chose to reflect on is sisterhood! Sisterhood is such an amazing aspect of Setons, and I have come to make so many great relationships within the club! I was super excited to start Setons at the beginning of the year because I knew I was going to be able to meet so many new people and make so many good connections, and that is exactly what happened! I think the biggest experience that bonded our club was the Setons retreat that happened back in January! While I knew many of the girls before the retreat, I feel like we were truly able to bond as a group during the time we were there, and I got to know every girl pretty well! Another great aspect of sisterhood I’ve experienced this year was Charity Ball! It was so amazing to hang out with everyone, get dressed up, and dance the entire night! Every time I see a Seton on campus, we always make the effort to stop and talk to one another, which is so great seeing a familiar face while walking to class! Many times, I will schedule a time to get coffee or dinner with a Seton during the week just to catch up and talk about our week! I’ve truly made 29 new friends through Setons, and I am so so grateful to have this sisterhood as a part of my life!
