Eleanor Johnson: Service

Hi! My name is Eleanor Johnson, and I am from Snohomish, Washington. I am majoring in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems and have a minor in dance. Outside of class I work with Campus Kitchens, a program on campus that takes leftover food from campus dining to cook warm meals that are then served to Gonzaga Family Haven and O’Malley Senior Center. Along with Setons I am apart of Women in Business, Beta Alpha Psi, and the involved in the Gonzaga dance program. In my free time I like to read, get coffee, take workout classes, and watch Gilmore Girls.   I joined Girl Scouts in first grade and ever since, Service has been extremely important to me and something I strive to keep a part of my life. Growing up in Girl Scouts allowed me to recognize the importance of helping those in my community from an early age and has ultimately led me to be the person I am today. Service was the pillar that drove me to join Setons, and I’m so ...

Ava: Sisterhood

Hi! My name is Ava Pierson. I’m a Psych major with an English minor from Gig Harbor, Washington. I’m

big on mental health (hence the Psych major) and I am looking to work with kids post-college. I love

doing things for the soul like journaling, going on walks, taking naps, hiking, and eating good food.

Recently my boyfriend and I have been binge-watching Breaking Bad which is an intense show, but I

recommend it for sure! I love anything nature-related, taking pictures, board games, and car rides with

friends. That’s pretty much me!

Now let’s talk sisterhood. Sisterhood is honestly why I joined this club. Growing up I took six years of

leadership classes, so I felt like I had those down. I also, like all setons, did quite a bit of service

throughout high school. So, it makes sense that the pillar I chose to talk about is the same one that I

originally lacked. This club has immersed me in such a special and unique set of girls. There are so many

different personalities, and we all have varying hobbies and majors. One of the highlights of these past

few months is my sister date with Aiva where we went to a supply store and were given an invigorating

lecture on the importance of self-defense. Also, I can’t even begin to describe how many hilarious

moments Karli and I had at the Boys and Girls Club. There were dance battles, singing contests, races,

handmade drawings, stealing of phones, snacking, and a whole lot of sass. This sisterhood has made me

feel so loved and part of something bigger than myself.
