Nathalia Meza - Service

Hi there! My name is Nathalia Meza, and I am from Los Angeles, California. I am a nursing major here at Gonzaga! Joining Setons has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Getting to be surrounded by and a part of such an amazing group of girls has been one of the most memorable experiences of my sophomore year! Setons has been a great opportunity to expand my involvement within Gonzaga and the greater Spokane community by making lasting impacts through acts of service. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, thrifting, playing the ukulele, and spending time with my friends.                                                 One of the aspects of Setons that I truly enjoy is the opportunity to give back and serve the greater Spokane community through various weekly and monthly volunteer opportunities. Maggie Moffat- Service

Hello! My name is Maggie Moffat, and I am a business major with a minor in Spanish. I am from Auburn, WA.

One thing I absolutely love about being a Seton is all of the wonderful service we are a part of. This semester, I have had the opportunity to serve meals to Spokane’s homeless population at Blessings Under the Bridge. Every Wednesday night this organization provides dinner, groceries, pet food, shoes, and clothing to over 350 people. It is a lively atmosphere underneath the freeway, with music and smiling faces. Many of the stories shared at this weekly event are moving as well as heartbreaking. This weekly service truly has been one of the most eye-opening things I’ve been involved in, and words cannot describe the impact these people have had on me. Having the opportunity to get to know the individuals at Blessings Under the Bridge has definitely widened my perspective and allowed me to better know the Spokane community. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of Setons and to have these experiences!

In addition to our regular weekly service, we also choose a different area to serve at each month. For February, we were able to volunteer at an elementary Father-Daughter dance! Of the 30 of us helping, we filled different needs at the dance including the snack area, photos, coat check, and registration. It was such a fun night seeing the excited young girls in dresses, and dancing as we worked.
