Laila Zommers: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Laila Zommers and I’m from Seattle, WA. I’m double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration (with a Finance concentration). I am the oldest of 3, and my younger sister (17) and younger brother (15) are my best friends! Joining Setons this year has truly been one of the best decisions I have EVER made. Outside of Setons, I am an active member in the Gonzaga Women in Business club. I love to cook, go on runs, hang out with friends, shop, and explore the Spokane coffee scene.                                            Out of our three pillars, I have resonated the most with Sisterhood as it’s the backbone of everything we do in Setons. Leadership and service could not thrive the same without it. Finding a group of like-minded women has been super beneficial in my college experience and my growth into the young woman I am today. Rlyee Coney: Service

Hi! My name is Rylee Coney and I am a sophomore at Gonzaga. I am an Applied Mathematics Major with a concentration in Physics. I'm not only involved in Setons but also many other aspects of Gonzaga. I am a part of the Gonzaga Women's Rowing Team, a Research Assistant for the Mathematics Department, and a Lab TA for Physics. I am from Anaheim, California, and have lived there my entire life until moving to Spokane for college. You'll either find me working out, doing homework, binge-watching a Netflix show, or at any and every coffee shop nearby! I am so incredibly grateful for Setons and the relationships I have gained, as it has allowed me to meet so many people I would have not met otherwise
I have the pleasure of writing about service! To me, service is one of our most important pillars of Setons. It's what makes us who we are and allows us to make a lasting impact on those around us. Through Setons, I've been able to become more involved with the Spokane community. This spring semester, I've had the pleasure of volunteering once a week at the Isaac Foundation. The Isaac Foundation is an after-school center for youth with autism. By volunteering here, I've been able to see what an impact it makes. Showing up and sitting with the kids at the center speaks volumes to them, and of course a game of Uno too! Being able to carve out 2 hours of my week to help make others feel welcome and smile a little more is something each Seton has the privilege of doing through service. I hope you got to know a little more about me! Thank you!
