Eleanor Johnson: Service

Hi! My name is Eleanor Johnson, and I am from Snohomish, Washington. I am majoring in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems and have a minor in dance. Outside of class I work with Campus Kitchens, a program on campus that takes leftover food from campus dining to cook warm meals that are then served to Gonzaga Family Haven and O’Malley Senior Center. Along with Setons I am apart of Women in Business, Beta Alpha Psi, and the involved in the Gonzaga dance program. In my free time I like to read, get coffee, take workout classes, and watch Gilmore Girls.   I joined Girl Scouts in first grade and ever since, Service has been extremely important to me and something I strive to keep a part of my life. Growing up in Girl Scouts allowed me to recognize the importance of helping those in my community from an early age and has ultimately led me to be the person I am today. Service was the pillar that drove me to join Setons, and I’m so ...

Rlyee Coney: Service

Hi! My name is Rylee Coney and I am a sophomore at Gonzaga. I am an Applied Mathematics Major with a concentration in Physics. I'm not only involved in Setons but also many other aspects of Gonzaga. I am a part of the Gonzaga Women's Rowing Team, a Research Assistant for the Mathematics Department, and a Lab TA for Physics. I am from Anaheim, California, and have lived there my entire life until moving to Spokane for college. You'll either find me working out, doing homework, binge-watching a Netflix show, or at any and every coffee shop nearby! I am so incredibly grateful for Setons and the relationships I have gained, as it has allowed me to meet so many people I would have not met otherwise
I have the pleasure of writing about service! To me, service is one of our most important pillars of Setons. It's what makes us who we are and allows us to make a lasting impact on those around us. Through Setons, I've been able to become more involved with the Spokane community. This spring semester, I've had the pleasure of volunteering once a week at the Isaac Foundation. The Isaac Foundation is an after-school center for youth with autism. By volunteering here, I've been able to see what an impact it makes. Showing up and sitting with the kids at the center speaks volumes to them, and of course a game of Uno too! Being able to carve out 2 hours of my week to help make others feel welcome and smile a little more is something each Seton has the privilege of doing through service. I hope you got to know a little more about me! Thank you!
