Eleanor Johnson: Service

Hi! My name is Eleanor Johnson, and I am from Snohomish, Washington. I am majoring in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems and have a minor in dance. Outside of class I work with Campus Kitchens, a program on campus that takes leftover food from campus dining to cook warm meals that are then served to Gonzaga Family Haven and O’Malley Senior Center. Along with Setons I am apart of Women in Business, Beta Alpha Psi, and the involved in the Gonzaga dance program. In my free time I like to read, get coffee, take workout classes, and watch Gilmore Girls.   I joined Girl Scouts in first grade and ever since, Service has been extremely important to me and something I strive to keep a part of my life. Growing up in Girl Scouts allowed me to recognize the importance of helping those in my community from an early age and has ultimately led me to be the person I am today. Service was the pillar that drove me to join Setons, and I’m so ...

Haley Lindsay - Leadership

Hi, My Name is Haley Lindsay, and I’m from Bothell, Washington. I am a business major concentrating on marketing and minoring in digital marketing. I am also one of the Media chairs for Setons. Outside of Setons, I am also a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, New Venture lab, and I am on the Gonzaga Women in Business social committee. I love hanging out with friends, trying new coffee shops, and shopping in my free time. I also like trying new crafts and baking. Some recent crafts I have been working on are embroidering and bedazzling! The current shows I have been watching are Gilmore Girls and Abbott Elementary.

The pillar I have chosen to reflect on is leadership. Throughout high school, I was involved in a few clubs like DECA and ASB, but I never had any leadership roles in the clubs I was involved in. When I got to Gonzaga, I knew I wanted to be more involved and push myself to try new things and take on leadership positions. So that’s exactly what I did, and I do not regret one bit of it! These positions have been such a fun experience, and I have felt like I have gained so many skills throughout my positions, especially in Setons! Having a leadership position in Setons has taught me the importance of communicating with others. I have learned things like how to properly advertise events like Charity Ball and selections. Seeing people attend and buy tickets to this year's Charity Ball has been so rewarding. I love how everyone on Seton's executive board works so well together in communicating and planning events! My favorite part of being a social media chair is creating media posts and flyers to go around the school. I have learned so much about how to make effective social media posts and flyers. Capturing what we do as Setons on camera through photos has also been another one of my favorite parts. Everyone in Setons is so committed to the club, and that is what makes it so great: the people and community surrounding it!
