Eleanor Johnson: Service

Hi! My name is Eleanor Johnson, and I am from Snohomish, Washington. I am majoring in Accounting and Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems and have a minor in dance. Outside of class I work with Campus Kitchens, a program on campus that takes leftover food from campus dining to cook warm meals that are then served to Gonzaga Family Haven and O’Malley Senior Center. Along with Setons I am apart of Women in Business, Beta Alpha Psi, and the involved in the Gonzaga dance program. In my free time I like to read, get coffee, take workout classes, and watch Gilmore Girls.   I joined Girl Scouts in first grade and ever since, Service has been extremely important to me and something I strive to keep a part of my life. Growing up in Girl Scouts allowed me to recognize the importance of helping those in my community from an early age and has ultimately led me to be the person I am today. Service was the pillar that drove me to join Setons, and I’m so ...

Nicola Ward: Leadership

Hello everyone, my name is Nicola Ward, and I am from Palm Springs, CA! Here at Gonzaga, I am a current Business Administration major concentrating in Finance and Marketing while on a pre-law track. My career aspirations after Gonzaga are to attend law school and work as a corporate lawyer. Throughout my childhood, I loved dancing and was a competitive dancer for eight years. Now at Gonzaga, I am on the Bomb Squad, a hip-hop team that performs at on-campus sports events and at the WCC tournament in Vegas. Joining Setons this past year has greatly changed the trajectory of my sophomore year and future at GU. This organization has shown me the importance and rewarding effects of being a part of something greater than myself. Whether it be from our monthly service events in the Spokane community or our weekly sister dates, Setons ensures every member feels supported, valued, and connected. Setons has become a home away from home; a group that inspires me to grow and give back to my community. I'm excited for the opportunities this year to continue fostering friendships, create an indelible impact on GU’s campus, and continue learning from the inspiring women around me.

In Setons, our three main pillars—leadership, service, and sisterhood—form the foundation of our organization. While sisterhood and service are bonds we foster collectively, leadership is a unique quality each member develops in her own way. Setons gives members the opportunity to engage in leadership opportunities with over fifteen executive positions available. This year, I chose to run for Fundraising Chair, drawing on my past experience in similar roles. Serving on the executive board has allowed me to deepen my connection with this organization and has united us girls around a shared purpose. Working together toward the common goal of supporting this organization has strengthened my bonds with fellow sisters and created a space for meaningful collaboration. As we all continue to work together throughout this year, us girls are building a legacy of support and dedication that will continue to strengthen our sisterhood and make a lasting impact on this organization and Gonzaga’s campus
