Laila Zommers: Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Laila Zommers and I’m from Seattle, WA. I’m double majoring in Accounting and Business Administration (with a Finance concentration). I am the oldest of 3, and my younger sister (17) and younger brother (15) are my best friends! Joining Setons this year has truly been one of the best decisions I have EVER made. Outside of Setons, I am an active member in the Gonzaga Women in Business club. I love to cook, go on runs, hang out with friends, shop, and explore the Spokane coffee scene.                                            Out of our three pillars, I have resonated the most with Sisterhood as it’s the backbone of everything we do in Setons. Katie Jo Jensen: Service

Hello!
My name is Katie Jo and I am lucky enough to have called myself a Seton this past year! I am from Issaquah, Washington which is just a few I-90 exits before Seattle. I major in Marketing and minor in English with hopes to market books for a publishing company one day! Living in the beautiful pacific northwest I have been able to do my fair share of hiking, which is one of my passions. I also love reading and recently have been on a mystery romance kick. I am one of the social chairs for Setons and have had so much fun planning social events for all the girls this year.
The pillar I am choosing to talk about is Service. Since we are a service based club, I see it as the most important of the three. Through Setons I have been able to extend my area of influence through the service Setons complete as a club, once a month, and the service we do in smaller groups, weekly. The service aspect of Setons is something I have grown to love and have found truly fulfilling. Through service I have grown closer with the other girls in the club in more ways than I can count. Before joining Setons I had little experience with service besides events through my high school, beyond this I had minimal experience actually going out into the community to people in need. Setons has completely broadened my perspective on the benefits and reasons to serve others and I have found it to be one of the most personally beneficial aspects of the club. I can confidently say, when I am a non-serving member next year I will still be making service events a priority in my weekly and monthly life.
