Catherine Steiner - Service

Hello! My name is Catherine Steiner, I’m from Edmonds, Washington, and I am an English Major with a Concentration in Writing and a double minor in Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurial Leadership. I come from a big Zag family, three out of my four siblings went to Gonzaga so I’ve been going to Family Weekend and visiting campus since I was 7. A little fun fact is that my two older sisters were also in Setons, so I have had a love for this club since I was young! I am currently a part of the Setons Executive Board as this year's class President! As President I am responsible for leading all meetings, and ensure we continuously uphold our pillars of sisterhood, service and leadership. My favorite part about being in Setons has been meeting so many wonderful girls, and being more involved both on and off campus! Outside of Setons, I am a part of the Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership program which has taught me so many communication, collaboration and leadership skills wh...

Hannah Van Hollebeke- Sisterhood

Hello! My name is Hannah Van Hollebeke! Today, I wanted to breakdown my favorite pillar of Setons - sisterhood. In my opinion, sisterhood is the base of what we do, and we couldn’t succeed as much as we do without it. Sisterhood strengthens all 30 girls as a group on campus and through service.

Everyday, I can confidently say that I have 29 others girls who have my back. Twenty nine girls who know what I am going through on a daily basis. Twenty nine girls who remember about certain events in my life and remember to ask me about them. Twenty nine girls who genuinely love me and would most certainly drop anything to be right by my side. It is a loving and fulfilling feeling I feel everyday walking around campus knowing I have the chance to call 29 other girls my sisters.

Through sisterhood, we are able to carry out service to the best of our abilities. We are required to work as a team with service. I am on Tuesday service and we prepare the meal for the week at “Blessings Under the Bridge”. We work as a team to efficiently get the meal prepared. We work in close quarters, so it is important to have that teamwork aspect. It makes service so life-giving working next to my sisters and serving so many people. Tuesday service becomes a highlight of my week knowing I can spend that time with my sisters and serve the community.

Setons wouldn’t be the same without the sisterhood pillar. The 29 other girls have made such a positive impact on my life and I am proud to call myself a Seton.
