Catherine Steiner - Service

Hello! My name is Catherine Steiner, I’m from Edmonds, Washington, and I am an English Major with a Concentration in Writing and a double minor in Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurial Leadership. I come from a big Zag family, three out of my four siblings went to Gonzaga so I’ve been going to Family Weekend and visiting campus since I was 7. A little fun fact is that my two older sisters were also in Setons, so I have had a love for this club since I was young! I am currently a part of the Setons Executive Board as this year's class President! As President I am responsible for leading all meetings, and ensure we continuously uphold our pillars of sisterhood, service and leadership. My favorite part about being in Setons has been meeting so many wonderful girls, and being more involved both on and off campus! Outside of Setons, I am a part of the Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership program which has taught me so many communication, collaboration and leadership skills wh...

Alyssa Smith: Sisterhood

Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Smith and I’m a nursing major from Spokane, Washington! I spend most of my time either studying or working however, when I’m not doing one of those I love being outside. I love hiking, bike riding, hammocking, boating, and swimming. I also love being with my roommates and friends and I’ve especially loved the privilege of getting to spend so much time with these amazing girls in Setons. Setons has definitely been the highlight of my year and I couldn’t imagine my sophomore year without it.
Throughout this year of Setons, I’ve really learned to appreciate the importance of sisterhood. I’ve truly loved getting to build relationships with these girls. This club is so amazing because we are such a close-knit community and we are able to support and encourage each other. Every week I look forward to chatting at our weekly meetings, our car rides to service, and getting coffee for sister dates. My favorite experience of this year has been Charity Ball. I was one of this year's Charity Ball co-chairs which was a lot of work planning the event but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I loved working with my co-chair, getting to dance with everyone at the dance, the laughs we shared, and the bonding it brought us. These girls are the most kind, genuine, supportive, and overall wonderful people that you will ever meet. I will always cherish these amazing relationships with this group of girls and the memories that we’ve created. I went to Gonzaga just hoping that I would be able to find people that I could become close with and now I have 29 best friends. Setons has made me feel like I belong here at Gonzaga and I couldn’t be thankful enough for the sisters I’ve found through it.
