Mary Maidment: Service

Hi! My name is Mary Maidment and I am from Portland, Oregon. I am studying neuroscience with a minor in psychology on the pre-med track. On campus, I work as an events assistant and as an Ambassador, frequently giving tours. When I have free time, I love to be outside hiking, shopping, intramural sports, workout classes, and spending time with friends. This year, my team won our softball and volleyball intramural championships!! I have been busy watching the new Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season and just finished Scandal. Tessa Foley- Service

Hi! I’m Tessa Foley and I am a business major with concentrations in marketing and entrepreneurship & innovation. This whole year at Blessings Under the Bridge alongside 29 other girls has been an incredible experience for me. Last semester, I mainly did clothes sorting for the donations that came in. Second semester, I finally got the opportunity to see those clothes get placed in the hands of someone who needs it every Wednesday night. Volunteering at Blessings each week is simultaneously challenging and rewarding. It is so difficult to see these people struggle in the midst of winter, yet they are so grateful and fun to talk to. It’s super inspiring when people come in with such positive attitudes and its been amazing getting to know people in Spokane I probably never would’ve met otherwise. Blessings is an experience I will cherish forever and I’m so glad I get to do each week with Setons. It’s crazy that this year is already 3/4 of the way done, but I’ll be sure to be soaking up every last weekly meeting, service experience, and social event with these girls.
